Yobe Govt to renovate dilapidated NUJ press centre

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Yobe State Council, Comrade Rajab Muhammad Isma'il, appreciate the effort of the Yobe State government to assign experts to assess the nature of the dilapidated condition of the NUJ secretariat in Damaturu for renovation.
The Chairman made this known while speaking to journalists at the secretariat after conducting round the project Manager Gwaram Engineering Company Engineer Musa Gwaram.
Comrade Rajab Muhammad expressed gratitude to the state government for assessing the dilapidated structure at the NUJ secretariat saying the renovation of the edifice would provide a conducive working atmosphere for journalists in the state.
"He commended the harmonious working relationship existing between journalists and the state government and reassured them to continue portraying the state government's laudable policies and programmes.
The NUJ Chairman further commended the state Governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni, for giving all the necessary support to the journalists and Media organisations to discharge their duties effectively.
According to him, Buni is the most friendly Governor in the history of the country, saying the synergy between media and government resulted in fruitful outcomes he added"
Comrade Rajab also commended the numerous contributions of the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Gashua, Commissioner of the Ministry of Home Affairs Information and Culture, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Muhammad in ensuring the complete renovation of the press centre.
He acknowledged their relentless efforts in ensuring the renovation of the press centre office edifice and Charlet to enhance service delivery.
Rajab said when renovated the two offices in the centre would be allocated to Correspondence Chapel and Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ.
The chairman, on behalf of the working journalist in the state, appreciates Governor Mai Mala Buni's unwavering support to the members of the fourth Estate of the realm in the state.
Briefing journalists after assessing the dilapidated buildings the Project Manager of Yobe State Gwaram Engineering Company, Engineer Musa Gwaram, assured that the renovation work would start from scratch points for quality execution and value for money spent.
The project Manager said in addition to some maintenance at the main building as well as complete roofing, POP and windows to give the building extra height and beauty.
Musa Gwaram reassured that when the work started in earnest, it would be completed within two months.
