JSCOE Gumel Celebrates Retirees and PhD Achievers

The College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) Gumel chapter held a historic event on May 14, 2025, to celebrate 16 senior colleagues who successfully completed their service and transitioned to senior citizen status, as well as 13 colleagues who acquired PhD degrees in various teaching fields.
In his welcome address, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Gumel, Chairman COEASU Gumel chapter, congratulated the retirees on their achievement, acknowledging their contributions to the college's growth and development. He also commended the PhD achievers on their academic accomplishments.
The event, held at the Ali Sa'adu Conference Hall, was attended by the college's Senior Management Team (SMTs). Dr. Gumel emphasized the importance of sustaining relationships beyond service years, highlighting the college's commitment to brotherhood, love, and care among staff.
In his heartfelt speech, Dr. Nura Mohammed Ringim, Provost of the College of Education, Gumel, extended warm congratulations to the 13 colleagues who had successfully acquired their PhD degrees. He expressed pride in their academic achievements and acknowledged the dedication and perseverance that had led to this milestone.
Dr. Ringim also wished the 16 retiring staff members a future filled with progress, happiness, and fulfillment. He encouraged both the PhD. holders and retirees to utilize their time and expertise in humanitarian services, emphasizing that such efforts would not only bring benefits in this life but also in the hereafter.
The Provost's advice underscored the importance of giving back to the community and using one's knowledge and experience for the greater good. His words served as a source of inspiration for the celebrants and the entire college community.
