NMA Engages Jigawa Impact Project, Pledges Collaboration To reduce MNCH

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Jigawa State, under the leadership of its Vice Chairman, Dr. Usman Haruna, paid a courtesy and collaborative visit to the IMPACT Project office in Dutse as part of its renewed commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes across the state.
During the visit, the NMA delegation engaged with key officials of the IMPACT Project led by the State Coordinator Dr. Mariya Abdullahi Ringim to discuss areas of synergy aimed at further reducing maternal and child mortality in Jigawa. Dr. Haruna applauded the IMPACT Project for its remarkable achievements, especially the recorded 13% reduction in maternal mortality in the state, including strengthening human resources for health, solar electrification of PHC facilities, provision of computers, and improved access to water and sanitation. Attributing this milestone to the Project's strategic interventions.
In a statement issued to Skylink news, Dr. Shamsu Gujungu Publicity Secretary, NMA Jigawa State said the Association Jigawa recognizes the critical role the IMPACT Project is playing in revitalizing primary healthcare systems in the state. "We are ready to collaborate and lend professional support in areas of service delivery, advocacy, and capacity building to ensure sustainable health outcomes".
Both parties expressed enthusiasm about building a strong partnership framework that leverages their unique strengths to advance maternal and child health and other critical healthcare priorities in Jigawa State.
