World Population Day: experts advocates for more investment and political will on child birth spacing

Nigeria joins other nations to mark this year's World Population Day, the day was set aside to create awareness on a healthy population and the impact of population growth and its consequences.
Mr Ibrahim Bilal, a local government's health facilitator LGF, Mallam Abubakar Ibrahim, a health promotion officer, highlighted the critical roles of family planning and child spacing in population management.
Speaking to the Yobe Family Planning media team in Damaturu, Mr Bilal and Abubakar Ibrahim emphasised the importance of empowering individuals to make informed choices about their reproductive health for a healthy society.
They said that by promoting family advice planning and child spacing, Nigeria can reduce unwanted pregnancies and promote healthy population growth and development.
They note that family planning and child spacing are essential measures to manage population growth." With increased access to family planning services and awareness, individuals can make informed decisions about their reproductive health, leading to better health outcomes and sustainable development.
They believe that by adopting a balanced approach to population management, Nigeria can build a brighter future for generations to come.
"With the right policies and investments, Nigeria can harness its human potential and achieve sustainable development.
"By prioritising family planning and child spacing, Nigeria can unlock the power of its population and achieve sustainable development," they emphasised.
According to them, it's essential to invest in human development for sustainable socioeconomic growth, emphasising the importance of promoting education, healthcare, and economic opportunities to empower individuals and communities.

They called on governments to initiate the right policies and investments to build a brighter future for generations to come.
